The Way I Work
I listen, ask a lot of questions, and get my ideas and inspiration from what my clients tell me. Our homes are what we make them, I believe the most interesting, the most comfortable and the most beautiful reflect the things that made us.
I recently renovated and decorated a town house for a client who left the large house in the country where her children had grown up, to be nearer to their school.
Fine woolen drapes were remade and rehung, favourite chairs were recovered, and library shelves, reeded mirrors, even sink stands throughout the house, were made from a fallen walnut tree at the heart of the previous garden, to create a new home resonant with memories of the old.
This attention to detail is made possible by the skill of the trades and crafts men and women with whom I work, including painters, joiners, masons, electricians and plasterers, all of whom I manage, to complete projects, however large or small, on time.
